Welcome to VPP Qingdao

Welcome to VPP Qingdao, the newest U.S. Virtual Presence Post (VPP) in the People's Republic of China.  It is our hope that this new "post" will help us increase interaction and build stronger ties with the residents of Qingdao and Shandong Province by giving you more opportunities to hear directly from Embassy officers on topics such as visas, trade and investment in the United States, and news about upcoming cultural or other events in the United States.  We hope to share our experiences with you and learn from you as well, both in person when we visit or online.  This website seeks to embrace our shared future together and enhance our cooperation.  Click on the links above to begin our mutual exchange.  We encourage your questions and comments. 

We also hope to be a valuable resource for the thousands of American citizens living in Qingdao, and thousands more that plan to visit, especially this summer.  In August 2008 Qingdao will not only hold its annual International Beer Festival, but will also serve as the venue for the Sailing events of the 2008 Olympic Games.
